Far/Near: Saiful Razman

In Far/Near, Saiful Razman continues his exploration of landscape through a series of paintings that capture his experience of the desert during a month-long residency programme at Sharjah Art Foundation in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates in early 2022. From things far, near, and everything inbetween.

Saiful Razman (b.1980, Perak Malaysia) is a multi-disciplinary artist primarily recognised for his gauze and tissue-paper collages that have garnered him international acclaim, most recently bringing him to the Venice Biennale (2022), Sharjah Art Foundation Residency (2022), and the UOB Southeast Asian Painting of The Year Award (2021). At the heart of his practice is an investigation of landscapes. For his seventh-solo exhibition, Far/Near, Saiful Razman continues his exploration of landscape through a series of paintings that capture his experience of the desert during a month-long residency programme at Sharjah Art Foundation in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates in early 2022.

 

His works have been exhibited in Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Italy, Australia, Lebanon and Bangladesh.
